Police said he pills, beige in colour, were found in a police raid on a property in Coolongup last month and contain Paramethoxy-amphetamine (PMA)

PMA has a potentially fatal effect on the body, causing it to overheat and has been linked with several deaths following its use.  A spokesman for the police said that there were concerns more of the fake drugs could be in circulation and passed off as ecstasy.

A 29 year-old Cooloongup man has been charged with the intent to supply or to sell a banned drug.

It is expected that he will appear in court this week where his charges could be upgraded.

Meanwhile police have issued a warning over another potentially deadly batch of ecstasy that has hit the street of Perth.
