Nova 969 Breakfast comedy duo Tim ‘Rosso’ Ross and Merrick Watts had brushed aside rumours they have had a falling out, saying that they love one another like brothers and will continue to work together away of radio.

Following nine years working behind the microphone at Nova 969 in Sydney, Ross will quit the station next month leaving alone Watts to host the show with new talent.

Ex Home and Away star Kate Ritchie, who has been on air with the duo for the last two years is going to also leave the show next year to focus on her acting career.

With his voice hesitating, Ross said that he had made up his mind to work on other personal projects, but was adamant that he and Watts, who have on a regular basis worked together on TV and stand up comedy weren’t splitting.

Rosso claimed that it wasn’t the end of Merrick and Rosso, but part of him being a part of the Nova969 team and the breakfast programme.

Ross and Watts has been hosting the breakfast time slot since 2001 after being recruited from the ABC’s Triple J radio station.

Watts, a new father, said that he understands that the job was very, very tasking, but wanted to assure fans that he and Ross didn’t having a fight.

Kate Ritchie, who joined Nova after two decades on the soap Home and Away and most recently starred in the gangland crime drama Underbelly this year, is going back to her passion of acting.

She said after two marvellous years at Nova, her heart’s assuring her that she needs to carry on with her acting career.

Kate Ritchie is set to tie the knot with rugby league player Stuart Webb after he proposed to her on a romantic holiday in Europe.

The former St George Illawarra hunk, two years younger than Ritchie, proposed to the breakfast radio host and former Home & Away star on Tuesday.

Ritchie said that they have told their families and are very excited to celebrating with their families when they arrive back in Australia.

The couple had met through mutual friends and known each other for a while before officially becoming an item a year ago.

Ritchie was overseas for her work on Nova 969’s breakfast show with Merrick and Rosso, extended her stay in Europe to holiday with Webb.

Sources say that no wedding date has been set, but it’s likely that the pair won’t get married until she finishes her commitments with Nova next year.

Rumours of a possible proposal have been floating around for some time, saying last July in that she was extremely happy with Webb.

Ritchie had previously dated pro-skateboarder Corbin Harris and rugby league star Chris Walker.

Months after battling with immigration officials for permission to enter Australia, US rapper Ja Rule has landed in Sydney and found himself straight into trouble.

Shortly after touching down along with his entourage, the rap artist jumped in a car and drove on the wrong side of the road in Pyrmont.

“I think he was more interested in looking at the view of Sydney than he was keeping his eyes on the road,” said publicist, Adam Cubito.

Ja Rule, whose real name is Jeffrey Atkins, was at Nova 969 to promote his show at the Big Top event at Luna Park on August 29. After talking about cars, co-host Kate Richie offered him a ride in her mother’s Toyota Seca, which she had driven to work in the morning.

“He powered out into Pyrmont with Kate in the front and the show’s other hosts Merrick and Rosso in the car and onto the wrong side of the road,” Mr Cubito continued.

“They were all shouting at him to get back on the right side.

“I think there were a few people ducking out of the way.

“He obviously thought he was still in America. Luckily there was no damage.”

Due to an arrest for gun possession in 2007, the rapper faced lengthy delays in securing a visa, and was actually due to arrive in July.
