Mel Gibson has had his fair of apologising to do over the past few years for alcohol fueled rants and inappropriate comments made to law officials on how he feels about the Jews.

Unfortunately he has once again been caught barely managing to keep a check on his temper.

Mel was visibly uneasy as he sat through and interview with WGN TV’s Dean Richards. He started to get annoyed when Richards pressed him on whether or not he thought he had changed over the last few years following a number of ups and downs in his professional as well as personal life.

However Gibson, who is promoting his new film Edge of Darkness, seemed not to appreciate being asked specifically about the alleged anti-semetic rant he made to a police officer a few years ago whilst drunk. He explained to Richard’s that he had managed to get over it but that his interviewer had apparently not. He then asked if they could move on.

Mel did not keep quite as cool as he might have during his hosts closing remarks. As Richards signs off Mel can clearly be heard still on air calling him an a**hole.

An additional 800 police will patrol Queensland streets this weekend as part of a nationwide crackdown on alcohol-related offences.

The show of force is part of Operation Unite, which is an Australia-wide two-day initiative aimed at curbing alcohol fuelled violence and crimes.

Queensland Police Minister Neil Roberts, said officers would target entertainment centres and events where alcohol is served.

He said the Queensland community had sent a very strong message to the government that it has basically had enough of alcohol fuelled anti-social behaviour, particularly at the major entertainment precincts, that’s prompted the additional funding to this service.

Deputy Police Commissioner Ian Stewart says the strong police presence will continue throughout the festive season.

He pointed out that at this time of year, there were always extra police on, it’s like schoolies and they have lot and lots of extra place go to schoolies to ensure a safe environment for the public.
