Mother attacks daughter’s teacher at school

A mother has been charged with assault after allegedly punching her high school teacher at her child’s school in Western Australia.

Police say the 45-year-old woman attacked the female teacher at Beverley District High School in Perth’s east, yesterday.

Sergeant Greg Lambert said that the woman went to the school shortly after 8am while the teacher was preparing lessons for the day.

It is alleged that the woman became upset with an ongoing issue and began punching the teacher, resulting in several blows to the head.

The teacher tried to protect herself by covering her face with her hands but the woman threw a punch that connected with her nose causing it to bleed.

The woman was apprehended by police shortly after she had left the classroom and also charged her with assaulting a public officer.

The woman is due to appear in Northam Magistrates Court next Monday.
